Class Schedule and Registration for Fusion Fest 2008
This year we’re doing things a little different. We decided to try the individual class payment. So you aren’t forced to take a class you don’t want and so you can afford to take only the classes you want.

Class descriptions for Saturday:
9:30-11:30 Amy Sigil- early registration is $35.00 after March 15th $40.00
“HOTPOTTURBOTRIBALTRICKS” NEW! Strap-on your jet-packs. In this workshop you’ll get the skinny on what happens when you let off a lot of steam while dancing really well, really fast. You’ll learn and drill two original combos snatched directly from the Hot Pot Studio tribal vocabulary, both equipped for improv and ready for show. All levels welcome.

11:45-1:15 Jemira Ali-early registration $25.00 after March 15th $30.00
Jemira will be teaching energetic veil moves with some spinning. You’ll cover some basics and then put it into high gear. This is not veil work to fall asleep too. Bring a half circle veil 2 ½ yards to 3 yards long. All levels welcome.

2:00-3:30 Brandy Bollin-early registration $30.00 after March 15th $35.00
Brandy will begin with basic moves in the Tribal Evolution improv format, teaching students how to combine movements in duets and trios to create complete, entertaining improv presentations. All levels welcome.

3:45-5:15 Reed Watkins-early registration $25.00 after March 15th $30.00
Reed will be teaching traditional sword cuts, stances, and maneuvering from Chinese, Japanese, and European sword schools. Drills to help you look like you know what your doing. He will incorporate fluid martial moves used with sword and belly dance. This is for intermediate to advanced dancers. You may want to do some upper body strengthening before hand.

Class descriptions for Sunday:
10:00-11:30 Carla Horn--early registration $25.00 after March 15th $30.00
Carla will teach how to make a hula hoop if you don’t already have one. Supplies for the Hula will be extra but should cost under $15.00. She will teach different hooping tricks and show you how to put it together in some combos and a short choreography. All levels welcome.

11:45-1:15 Brandy Bollin -early registration $30.00 after March 15th $35.00
As the students progress, more advanced moves and long combos will be incorporated into large group formations so that we can all dance together. As time permits, we will work with different formations for groups of any size that work best from the big stage to the smallest restaurant setting and put them into our practice. Bring your zills!

2:15-4:15 Amy Sigil- early registration is $35.00 after March 15th $40.00
“Moves You’ve Hopefully Never Thought of Before” This fresh-approach workshop will reveal the secrets of UNMATA’s modern belly dance fusion. Each movement will emphasize specific technique and capture the nuance of UNMATA’s popular style. Because this class is designed for the intermediate to advanced dancer, a sufficient understanding of balance, timing, and isolation skill is prerequisite. Curriculum can easily be adapted for cabaret or tribal disciplines.

Red Moon Tribe is thrilled to be hosting a stop on The Durga Tour: Gothic Bellydance workshops presented by Tempest and Ariellah of Gothic Bellydance DVD fame.

A friend of mine called me today and let me know she was having a garage sale with A LOT of her stuff from India for sale!! She's a great lady and I taught her two boys...and she remembered I had friends who bellydance and thought I ought to pass the word along to all of you about her sale.

Her name is Geetha Sivaguru and is from India---travels back there often and is constantly getting new clothing and stuff for herself...so she says she has new and lightly used items...traditional clothing, fabric, and jewelry...I highly recommend going there to check out what she might have...what kind of deals she'll make...there IS strength in numbers! If y'all went together and wiped her out of her stuff...who knows how generous she could be... ;)

I just got back from the performance tonight and I'm literally speachless!!!! I just wanted to start a quick thread to say WOW....... The ladies were outstanding, beautifully breathtaking, majestical creatures of the snow..... once again topping themselves creatively and artistically...... not a peep was heard in the house while the dragonflies graced the stage.....

great job ladies, I'll be posting all my pictures online in the next couple days!!

saturday night (12/3), we'll be unveiling the new snow fairy costumes and choreo at the cherry street artisan in columbia. kandi and i are doing solos and us+kristin will debut the new group piece. it's RAD!!!!!

unfortunately heather lost her grandma this week, so she won't be able to be there with us. we'll miss her!

We've got lots going on these days ... hope people are checking here at least ONCE in a while. When we're famous EVERYONE will be coming to this tribe and hanging out and asking where we get our cool shit, right??

Seriously ... we're at the Artisan this Saturday, 9/17, with some brand-new stuff.

And it looks like we'll be the main gig at Silhouette later in September (date TBA), and then Charlie's Angle premiers in October in Columbia. That's the movie we're in! We're the sexy dream sequence, aw yeah.
